B's Works Crematorial Items and Ceramic
Gift ware are hand made ceramic wares created by Brenda
Visser. Each piece is a stunning creation that is unique
and precisely detailed. As a result of her work, you receive
ceramics of a high quality and craftsmanship at a comfortable
price.
At the age of thirty nine, Brenda has
achieved 31 years of hands-on, formal ceramic work including
Earthenware, Stoneware, and Bone China. Brenda diligently
began her first, self-taught instruction with ceramics at
the age of 8 and entered her first competition at the age
of 13. She competed against other ceramic artists from all
over Canada and the United States which included artists
with a wide range of experience from amateur, professional,
and masters status.
In 1983, Brenda stole the show, winning
all top awards in two age categories. These were: Children's
11 – 15, Children's 6 - 17, Best of Division, Best
of Category, First place and Best of Show. Upon winning
the competition Brenda had her name inscribed into a brick
in the YMCA, Burnaby location. Recently, upon requesting
archive information for these honors, she was disappointed
to learn that the Burnaby location of the YMCA in Canada
has closed down. All that remains are trophies, certificates,
photos, and memories.
Two years later, in 1985, she repeated
that same winning performance, proving her abilities were
no fluke. Though born and raised in Burnaby, British Columbia,
Brenda has moved around Canada, Europe, and the United Kingdom.
While in Europe, Brenda toured the factory where Hummel
figurines are produced. In the United Kingdom, she gained
insight as to where Royal Doulton is manufactured and also
visited small factories where red bricks are made "by
hand" to this day.
Brenda now resides in the Cascade Forest
District of British Columbia, Canada, which has been her
home for the past nine years. To date, Brenda has managed
to purchase enough equipment to establish her own business,
creating exquisite ceramic giftware as well as crematorial
urns for both people and pets.
Undoubtedly, Brenda enjoys the very personal
guidance and respect she offers to her clients with regard
to their available choices and their individual wishes.
"My passion is painting my ceramics," Brenda states,
stressing, "I stand on my reputation. My aim is exceptional
quality at a comfortable price. I can make it as expensive
as one would like, but I will not make a cheap product.
I produce exceedingly high quality pieces without mass production.
My works are of a high caliber, and when I create a custom
piece for a client (as we are all different ), it carries
with it a part of my soul, knowing that it is my heart and
not my mind that guides my brush. I'm living my dream...
and I love it!" |
